The SC/ST division in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University has been functioning since 2002. The main objective of this scheme is to provide the benefit of the post-matric scholarship given by the government to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students.
During the year, the information related to Scholarship for the students sought by SC / ST Department has been sent to Scheduled Caste Welfare Office - Gandhinagar and Commissioner of Tribal Development, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar. Apart from this, the memorandum has been sent in the districts where scholarship for Scheduled Caste students has not been approved during the year 2006 and the scholarship to students belonging to Scheduled Tribes has not been sanctioned. During the year, check / DD of scholarship amount sanctioned from Mehsana, Banaskantha, Ahmedabad, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Vadodara, Patan, Amreli, Anand, Bharuch, Narmada, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Panchmahal, Surat, Jamnagar, Arvalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Kheda, Chhota Udepur, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Kachchh, Surendranagar and Porbandar out of the various districts of Gujarat. Information regarding student’s scholarship related applications and applications filed under Right to Information Act are given.
The scholarship form for the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students enrolled in the university session in February 2013 is now sent to the office of Backward Class Welfare Officer and Vigilance Officer's Office in different districts of the state.
From Academic Year August 2017 Post Matric Scholarship Forms are filled at Digital Gujarat Portal for All category Students who apply for the Post Matric Scholarship as per Gujarat Government Norms. Which includes the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class students. Scholarship for the students sought by SC / ST Department has been sent to Scheduled Caste Welfare Office - Ahmedabad, Commissioner of Tribal Development, Gujarat State, Ahmedabad and District Welfare Officer, Devloping Caste Welfare Department - Ahmedabad. Scholarship amount of the student’s has been directly transfer in student’s bank account by relevant Departments. University Will get Only Education Fee of the Freeship Card Students which is transfer by relevant Departments in University’s bank Account.
