DR. S & S.S. GHANDHY GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Dr. S & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering & Technology is situated at heart of SURAT, the second largest city of Gujarat State. This Institute is one of the oldest and largest Technical Institution of Gujarat. It was established in June 1955. The donor late Dr. SORABJI & SAROSH SORABJI GHANDHY, a local Medical Practitioner, was the Prime Driving Force behind the establishment of this Institute, who donated Rs. 0.52 million in the year of 1952. Actually, he had a dream of starting a Degree Engineering College, not just a Polytechnic and so, he named the college as Dr. S. & S. S. GHANDHY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY. Later on, The Government of Bombay State acquired the land building and equipments at the cost of Rs. 0.605 Million. Currently, the institute is administered by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt of Gujarat. All the programmes of the institute are AICTE approved and the institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Chandkheda, Gujarat.

Dr. S. & S.S. College Diploma Courses Admission 2022
The college offers Diploma courses in 9 specializations. For admission to Diploma courses, candidates should have passed SSC with Mathematics, and English or should have passed SSC with 2-year certificate course conducted by NCVT/TEB (Technical Examination Board). All the seats shall be filled based on the merit list prepared by the Admission Committee of the Gujarat Technical Board.
The criteria for deciding merit if candidates have equal merit marks is :

1. Marks obtained in Mathematics
2. Marks obtained in Science
3. Marks obtained in Mathematics & English
4. Marks obtained in Science and English.

• Admission to Diploma engineering courses is done on the basis of merit list according to the qualifying exam (SSC).
• Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from Gujarat board or any other equivalent board but the school/study center should be located in Gujarat or Dadara & Nagar Haveli of Daman & Diu.
• Wards of Defense personnel belonging to Gujarat state will be considered for admission under reservation quota for Ex-servicemen.
