Department Of Management Studies, Bhimtal

The Department of Management Studies (DMS) was established in 1997 under the aegis of the University Grants Commission(U.G.C.) and has acquired concurrence from the State Government. The MBA(F.T.) programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(A.I.C.T.E) and is the only such programme under a State University in Uttarakhand.

The DMS is a University Department under the Faculty of Commerce and Management located at Bhimtal-a sattelite town of Nainital and is situated in the Himalayan foot-hills. Bhimtal is fast emerging as an educational hub.The Department of Bio-Technology and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Kumaun University are also located at Bhimtal. Besides these,Bhimtal also has several National and State level research centers.
The Department has pioneered management education in the region and has established itself as the foremost and most sought after Department imparting management education in the region. It is commited to provide quality educational facilities for training young men and women for taking up careers in management and create knowledge through research.

Kumaun University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes under different specializations. It offers programmes across all major streams through a total of 10 departments. Apart from offering major courses in Arts, Commerce, Science & Technology, and Management. Kumaun University also offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Law, Education, Agriculture, and Visual Arts as well. The university offers research programmes through M.Phil and Ph.D courses. It also offers a D.Litt programme to its students.
The University offers online learning and teaching facilities. Through its online learning and teaching facility, the university offers around 43 courses. Some of them are Stock Market Trading, Data and Data Acquisition Techniques, Media Skill and Media Law, Web Development, etc.
