Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun was established on 27th January 2005 by Govt. of Uttarakhand through the Uttarakhand Technical University Act 2005. The Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University campus is situated at NH-72 Suddhowala, Dehradun. Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand State and is well connected through Rail, Road and Air transport.

The University has been established in an area of 8.372 hectare and it is the only affiliating University of the state for technical institutions. There are 81Affiliated Private Institutionsand 12 Government Institutions in the University. University is running 08 UG,6 PG and 18 Ph.Dprogrammeswith approximately twenty thousand students in various courses detailed below:

Admission to Pharma, 1st Year is based on the inter-se merit of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University on the month of April-June, along with the following minimum eligibility criteria.

Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Pharmacy course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical.

Bachelor of Hotel Management
Admission to BHMCT, is based on the inter-se merit of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University on the month of April-June, along with the following minimum eligibility criteria.
The candidate should have passed Class 12^th of CBSE or any other equivalent board.
Candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The aggregate will be calculated as the aggregate of best of four subjects including one language and compulsory subject
Moreover, he/she must have passed English; either core or functional, in any case as a subject.
Bachelor of Technology
All seats are to be filled as per the norms of the State Government and on the basis of merit in JEE. All the seats are to be filled under one category of fees as decided by the state Government/State Fee & Admission Committee.

Admission to B.Tech, 2nd Year is based on the inter-se merit of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University on the month of April-June, along with the following minimum eligibility criteria
A candidate must have passed the three years Diploma in Engineering of State Board of Technical Education from an AICTE approved institution in the appropriate branch of engineering/technology in aggregate of all semesters.

Master of Computer Application
Admission to MCA, is based on the inter-se merit of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University on the month of April-June, along with the following minimum eligibility criteria.

Aspirants who have done their BCA, BBA or B.Tech can apply for the MCA course. Students who have finished their graduation in science can also apply. These students must have studied Mathematics as a subject in class 10+2. There is no age limit regarding the admission to this course.

Students who would like to join the MCA course must have a pass in graduation with more than 60 percent marks. They need to write an entrance exam as to get admission into the MCA course.

Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) Placements

The University has a pretty good placement record. The placement process is a bit easy and the placement cell of the college is also very supportive.

• The highest package offered at UTU is 56 lakhs

• Students get placement in various companies like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, IBM, HCL, Emicon, Arnav infosoft, Eminence, Amazon, and many others.

• Students get an average of INR 3 to 4 lakhs package every year which is a decent start for the fresher’s.

• The placement cell works hard and every year approximately 80% students of the batch get placed.

The college's internship opportunity is provided equally to everybody. The college has a strict policy of not letting one candidate undertake 2 internship exams if he is shortlisted by 1 company.

Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) Scholarships

The scholarship is provided by the state or central government. The loan facilities are available for students from all courses. The scholarship is available for merit students and SC, ST, or OBC students. Eligible candidates can fill the scholarship application form from the dates given in Uttarakhand Technical University official notification.

• The Centrally Sponsored Scheme “National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)” was launched in May 2008. The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class VIII and encourage them to continue the study at the secondary stage.

• Scholarship of INR 6000/- per annum (INR.500/- per month) per student is awarded to selected students every year in State Government, Government aided and local body schools.

• There is a quota of scholarships for different states/UTs. Students whose parental income from all sources is not more than INR 1,50,000/- are eligible to avail the scholarships. Scholarships are disbursed by the State Bank of India directly into the bank accounts of students on a quarterly basis.
